• What is the best file format to submit your documents for printing?

When submitting a digital document for printing, it’s best to use a PDF format. This format is widely accepted and will ensure that your document looks the same when printed as it does on your computer screen. If you can’t convert your document to a PDF, you can also use other file formats like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Word, and Excel. But keep in mind that if you use these formats, you’ll need to pay attention to the fonts and graphics used in the document to ensure they print correctly.

Yes, it’s important to avoid using small or low resolution images as they will not print clearly. This includes most images that are copied off of the internet. Additionally, it’s important to keep text, images, and logos at least 2 inches away from the edges of your document to ensure they don’t get cut off during printing.

When preparing your file for printing, it’s best to view it in “Print Size” or “Actual Size” mode to ensure that images and text appear sharp and clear. If they appear pixilated or blurry on your screen, they will likely print that way as well.

Lastly, it’s important to set up your file at the full size of your desired sign, banner or sticker, so the final product is the correct size.

Once I submit the documents, how long will it take to finish my job?

Atlas Wrap Co. is determined to meet all of your sign and printing deadlines.  blueprints can be completed in less than an hour. Please engineering printing specialist know when you need them by. For posters and mounting, it can take up to 1 -3 days. Although some jobs like banners and retractable banners can take up to 1 -3 days. Vehicle graphics can take up to a week and need to schedule to decrease the production time that you leave your vehicle.

Why do the printed colors look different from the colors on my screen?

Great question. In short, printers and monitors produce colors in different ways. Monitors use the RGB (red, green, blue) color model, which usually supports a wider spectrum of colors. Printers use the CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color model, which can reproduce most—but not all—of the colors in the RGB color model. Depending on the equipment used, CMYK generally matches 85–90% of the colors in the RGB model.

When a color is selected from the RGB model that is out of the range of the CMYK model, the application chooses what it thinks is the closest color that will match. Programs like Adobe Photoshop will allow you to choose which color will be replaced. Others may not.

At what resolution should I save my photos and graphics?

Ideally, picture resolution should be set to 300 dpi at the final use size.

Pictures and graphics pulled from the internet are often low resolution, typically 72 dpi. You should avoid using these low resolution graphics, as they will appear pixilated and blocky when printed.

Also note that you should save all photos in CMYK mode, not RGB mode when possible. Images saved in RGB mode may not print properly. If you are unable to save your image in CYMK mode, please contact us for assistance.
